The NASA Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) investigation represents the first time NASA has partnered with epidemiologists and health organizations on a satellite mission to study human health and improve lives.
What is MAIA?
NASA’s Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) investigation will seek to understand how different types of air pollution affect human health.
MAIA and Your Health
Air pollution can cause serious health problems such as heart disease, lung disease, and stroke. Find out more about what is known.
The MAIA Mission
The MAIA Observatory is a state-of-the-art NASA instrument aboard a spacecraft provided by Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI, the Italian Space Agency). Data from the Observatory will be used in health studies to examine the health effects of various types of particulate air pollution.
